WIRES-X PC Software Update Information
Version 2.0xx (Supports portable digital node functionality)
This software is for PCs used by WIRES-X node stations.
Important
Before downloading the software, please read the “Important Notes” carefully.
Downloading this firmware will indicate your agreement with the contents of the “Important Notes”.
If you are installing this software on a computer that already has WIRES-X software installed, please refer to the
software installation instructions on page 3.
Main changes in Ver. 2.0xx
- Added support for WIRES-X operation using FTX-1
The FTX-1 has built-in functionality equivalent to the HRI-200 and can be operated as a full-spec node. - Router port forwarding settings are no longer required when operating as a node.
- When operating as a PDN, only information from connected stations can be displayed on the radio.
- Location information can now be changed via your PC.
- Other minor changes
While port forwarding is no longer required in Ver. 2.0xx, there are some combinations of rooms that cannot con-
nect due to incompatibility between the old and new software versions.
Compatibility chart for old and new software versions
Version of the connected room Version of my station
Ver. 1.xxx Ver. 2.0xx
Ver. 1.xxx 3 5 Cannot connect between the new version software to an
old version room.
Ver. 2.0xx
New Version Exclusive
Room 5 3
Cannot connect between an older version software to a
newer version room.
Port forwarding is not required when using new version
software to a new version room.
Room compatible with
older versions 3 3 Rooms compatible with older versions software require
port forwarding setup.
For owners who have already opened/operated a room, we ask that you consider migrating to room operation us-
ing the “Old Version Compatible Room Function” with Ver. 2.0xx or later. - If you already have an environment where a room is in operation (with an IPv4 Global IP and port forwarding en-
abled), migration is possible with only a software version upgrade.
Main changes in Ver. 2.010 (May 2026) - Resolved an issue where Downlink audio could experience dropouts when multiple nodes in a Room initiated
Uplink transmission at the same time. - Fixed a bug where the Ver. 1.5 node would disconnect if there was an uplink from the FTX-1 node.
- Fixed an issue where QSL images were not transmitted correctly upon connection.
- Fixed a display corruption issue in the popup list of connected Nodes when a Ver. 1.5xx node connected to a
Room with 129 or more node connections.
Depending on the node/room version, there are combinations where the list of connected stations may not
be displayed correctly (see table below). Therefore, please use Ver. 2.010 for both the node and room.
